what type of job should I get?

Question by s: what type of job should I get?
I have a high school diploma and a forklift safety classroom instruction certificate. I have worked at a golf course cleaning golf clubs, power carts, preparing range buckets and getting golfers ready for there game and assisting them after the game to put there clubs away. I also have cleaning and light repairs, preparing equipment and fields for certain sports at a local sports facility. I am now working in a warehouse as a hand packer, although I am only meant to be there as a temporary. I got laid off from the golf course after I asked for more than 3 hours a day, and since management changed it is totally run differently now, I was there for 14 hours a day before and we had one person to go to for any problem, then it became whoever was the highest in rank over there and she hated me since I had more hours than anybody in the history of the golf course, so she cut my hours back to 3 a day. I was there for about 6 weeks in 2009 and I was there for late april to early june 2010. I am still employed at the sports facility, but I am an on-call worker, so I work maybe once every 6 weeks plus special events and I have been there since 2007 (I got the golf course and sports facility job because of my dad). I recently started in a warehouse, but I can’t get used to working 2 day shifts, 2 days off, 2 night shifts, 3 days off, for 12 hours a day, in 130 degree heat with no breaks, no liquid allowed and no food in the stomach. I just got fed up and started thinking of another job when my boss asked me to work friday night, saturday during the day and saturday night, which would be a 36 hour shift in a row, I think that is unreasonable. true I am getting 48 hours a week and making 40 cents above minimum wage, but I am really unhappy about my job. I am wondering if there is any job I could do that would be a bit easier, and maybe a bit less hard on the body, because I do have weakness in my legs, back and shoulders, and I do have depression too. I don’t have to worry about rent, all I have to worry about is my cell phone, my car and my food, which runs at about 250$ a month altogether, and minimum wage is 9$ an hour, soon to go to 9,50$ an hour and up to 10$ an hour. I know I pull in like 425$ after taxes, but I just got in because I needed a job, now I just wish I could start in a store somewhere, but I can’t seem to find any that are hiring. I prefer the night shift, but I can adapt to the day shift too. I can do repetitive tasks, I can work long hours, as long as I have a 30 minute break every few hours and I don’t mind working with people, although I am not the best people person around, I can adapt to it. I live in new-brunswick, and I would rather not work for friends and family, so it can be a bit tricky finding work, but list me any ideas. I also love working with animals and just watching how they behave all day, if it helps (although no pet stores are hiring and we do not have a zoo in the area anymore, they moved like an hour and a half away)

You’re certified in forklifts, so why not look for a forklift operator’s job in your area (in a better warehouse or construction site:)? Here’s a direct link to jobs available to you in New Brunswick (note: you didn’t say whether this is NJ, Canada, etc so I left it at a city search, apologies if some do not apply!

Also tips for just getting better and playing are good too.

Answer by x-15a2
what most hs team coaches want is someone that is willing to learn and take instruction, someone who is a “team” player (supporting others on the team, even if they are ranked higher than you) and someone who represents your school well.

Regarding the club to buy, it depends on many factors, not the least of which is your budget. Ask you coach about club selection as well as working to make your game better. Any good coach will be happy to help with these questions.

What specific golf clubs does a beginner need to play?I know you need a driver and a putter but what else?

Question by Terry: What specific golf clubs does a beginner need to play?I know you need a driver and a putter but what else?
I just ordered a driver on line and that is all I own. I’m going to practice driving at a virtual golf place until it gets warmer outside. I am an absolute beginner. What would be the minimum clubs I would need to actually play a round? I am an older (54) female so think the hybrids would be good for me. I am not actually looking for brand recommendations here, but club types. That said, the Callaway GES system sounds good to me because it apparently only has seven clubs which sounds about right to me but I am having trouble finding it. Does anyone know how I could replicate that buying individual clubs? I don’t really want a full set, at least not yet. And carrying 14 clubs around, many of which I probably wouldn’t use at least not soon, sounds like a waste of energy. So what is the minimum and what are they? Please be specific because a lot of what I have read is pretty confusing. So many choices! Thanks.

Answer by Wham
If your a beginner and don’t want to carry around all the clubs at first then I would recommend just getting the basic irons 3,5,7, and 9. I would also recommend a pitching wedge and also a fairway driver like a 3 or 5 wood to start with. After that if you feel comfortable then you could fill in the rest of your set.

I am looking for a specific golf swing trainer tool?

Question by George S: I am looking for a specific golf swing trainer tool?
I swung a trainer tool a while ago and was looking to buy one, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. It was the length of a fairway wood and had a regular grip on it, but an ultra-flexible shaft with about an 8 lb weight on the end of it instead of a club head. Anybody know where I can get one?

The one thing I didn’t like was the price it was around 42,000 for the year. I more looking for a golf school for the year around 30,000 is that even possible. Best answer:

golf swing ad middle Q&A: good golf academy with boarding?

Answer by tcmae
The IJGA, the International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, NC. The academy is operated by Hank Haney, the former coach of Tiger Woods. It is a boarding golf academy where during the school year, you go to school, and the golf academy, and live in dorms with house parents. You will do your academics in Heritage Academy where you can go to high school, and graduate from high school. In the golf academy, Hank Haney and his instructors will train you to become a better player at golf. It is a complete training program with fitness, mental, and the go on the golf course, and they work with you in every aspect of the game so you can become a better competitive player. It is designed for aspiring competitive golfers. From that you get to play competitive tournaments with the IJGT, the International Junior Golf Tour, and from there that is where colleges see you for recruiting, and scholarships. There is a number of golfers that attend the IJGA, that get recruited by Division I colleges, and even get scholarships. But not everyone that attends the IJGA gets to play college golf, so if you land there, after graduating high school, the IJGA has a post graduate program. It is the same thing where you will be trained, and you go to school in the same time. From there you can transfer out, and eventually play for a Division I school. This is probaly the best academy out there for junior golfers, and you get instruction and training from the former coach of the world’s #1 golfer. I know about this because a couple of years ago, the Golf Channel produced a show on the IJGA, School of Golf: Hilton Head Island. It was a show on lives of students that attended the IJGA. For more information about the IJGA, the website is below in the sources.

Answer by Mikek
no golf ball ever made will do anything to reduce your slice. The problem is your swing, not your equipment or golf ball. Sorry. Keep your head down throughout the swing and try to keep your left arm LOCKED in place during the entire swing (up-swing, down-swing, and impact).

Q&A: Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?

4660947643 86eb1cb3ac m Q&A: Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right hand players left hand straight?
by U.S. Army Garrison – Miami

Question by Jo: Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?
This is my first year playing golf and I don’t want to develop bad habits. I am a 25 handicap and I just learned how to pitch a ball although I can’t yet control it’s distance. Anyways, I can drive the ball 275 yards 6 times out of 18, so the potential is there at times. However, almost everyone I play w/ tells me that I am bending my left hand too much. Does anyone know of an aid or trick that can help me w/ this? Will lessons be useful or is it all mental? Thanks for your time and assistance!

Answer by musicman
Dude, it nearly impossible for anyone in this forum to answer that question intelligently without having the benefit of looking at your swing. My suggestion is to go see a golf professional and have your swing videotaped and analyzed.
